Demolished House in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Apr 09 2015

 |  25
 |  0
Recent status Demolished
Location # 11833

Described by MPAC as a property with: "More than one structure used for residential purposes with "at least" one of the structures occupied permanently" (???), these four houses were assessed at a value of $310,000 in 1993. Address searches return recent residents, but were well into decline as early as Apr 2012. Aug 2014 shows them as still unboarded but clearly empty. Superficially at least, the three houses in the rear seem to be based on the same conceptual design.

Demolished.

According to "The Skyline", these have been derelict for well over a decade. A marijuana grow-op damaged the structural integrity of the brick house. The three cottages are in poor condition. Under the provisions of the Residential Demolition Control Bylaw these cannot be demolished until plans for a replacement development have been approved. There is no development application on file.

Why are so many in one lot abandoned? Neat spot.
