I have been wanting to explore these two boarded up houses for some time, but given the craziness that is going on next door, at the well documented "Bradford Boarded Up" location, regarding the locals and other such weirdness, I have been patiently waiting for the right moment. Today was it.
Passing by I noticed that the old wreck of a truck in the front yard had a for sale sign in the window, what a great opportunity to explore the property while photographing the old Chevy, until the crazy neighbours made their inevitable appearance. Then I hoped to find out some history and make a new friend, while showing interest in purchasing the pick-up.
Took a couple of exterior shots of the houses, moved onto the truck...still no visitors, so I decided to cautiously approach the open and inviting side door of the older house, while keeping an eye for my expected guests. Noticed an old and well-demoed vintage Camaro behind the house so grabbed a couple of quick pics. Still no surprises, so I headed inside the first house. Since I wasn't expecting to venture inside, I did not carry a flashlight, just used the camera flash to guide my way. Rookie mistake and I should know better. Grabbed a couple of interior shots...then it happened.....my foot crashed through the floorboards, and there I am completely in the dark, one foot dangling below the horizon, all the while, flashing through my mind was the idea of trying to explain my predicament whilst I was supposedly checking out a wreck, to a lunatic of a local.
I made a hasty retreat. May build up the nerve to try again, with better preparation next time.
Also noticed the back door of the second house is also wide open...didn't push my luck by trying it.

It looks like no one is even bothering to trim around these 2 houses. I got a few good scratches walking around the white place.
Timo, glad you're okay. I love that feeling of wondering when someone is gonna walk in!!
wow what a story, love the old truck, would love to take a pic of that, do you think its still there?

And it's gone. There is nothing left of these 2 houses but a bare patch of earth. Poor church across the road is now lonely.
