Full Time Security for all hours the mall is open. Cameras, I assume even tho the mall is open, that locked areas would be alarmed. SPECIALLY THE LOWER FLOOR.
Built in 1973 on the grounds of the original Kitchener City Hall, it was home to Eaton's and the Kitchener Farmer's Market until 2004. The mall declined through the 1990s and now is almost completely abandoned, save for a Service Canada and some retail stores. The 4th floor was the home of a call center called "Nordia" but in 2018 or 2019 Nordia relocated to a larger office in Waterloo. The lowest floor is currently in use and being renovated by the Conestoga College to be the campus for International Buisness.
The building has four floors (two accessible) and the exterior is almost completely glass. Most storefronts are either unowned or closed until further notice. Although not truly abandoned, the mall offers an interesting foray into the space between bustling and abandoned.
The lower floor and Nordia offices are currently unreachable via elevator or stairs.

Over half the footprint of this land, is the parking lot. LOL. History, will think we had some obsession with worshipping parking lots. Its one of the steady things picked to replace things.
John Lingwoods partial bastardization. I was gonna shoot this. LOL. Infiltration and active places. Its damn fun.
I'd love to see what kind of shots you get in there. Waiting for my camera to ship so I can start having more options when it comes to shots, but for now it's just the good old Android.
Its on my list, now sooner rather than later. Here is my breakdown. Market square symbolizes the history of demolishing history that K-Town is NOTORIOUSLY famous for. Sucks that my fav architect made the original mall that was repurposed and redone to suit this current *abomination*(IMO but his mall was an abomination too compared to Old City Hall). So Ill be there in a week or 2, but I want to shoot the symbol of the history of demolishing history, before it is inevitably demolished as I feel it will eventually go. Yah, that will be interesting. Ive been in there once and I told them (security) to call the cops and have me arrested, or give me a place to lock my bike, while I stand at his desk and my mom looked up phone numbers. Great time! Ahahaha.
I've been living here all my life and had zero clue about all that, that's crazy. Ironically it had actually been an impulse to go into Market Square because I'd thought it was still active. When I got in there it was like hitting the jackpot, an even better dead active building than the tiny concrete prison that is Stanley Park Mall.

This is now NOT a mall, and is predominantly a Conestoga College use now. Not public property, and not really accessible.
