What once must have been a grand residence surrounded by lush trees with a fantastic view of the Lake Ontario shoreline now sits empty, boarded and with a future uncertain. Satellite view shows it still surrounded by trees, with a car in the driveway. Street view shows it empty but not yet boarded, with an earth mover sitting on the premises.
In the present, the place is boarded up very well. Evidence of heavy equipment on the grounds via the huge tire tracks/tread marks on the frozen soil. A few curiosities down at beach level. Although no entry at this time (the neighbours are very close on both sides, so couldn't probe much), the place is worth a visit if in the area for the exterior shots and view alone.
Not sure if the bones are good enough for this structure to remain, or if it will be knocked down for some vainglorious mcmansion.

Someone lost a huge chunk of change off this property! It sold to a company on Sept 22, 2011 for half of what it sold for in 2010. It'll get turned in to a big home soon enough :(
Love when an abandonment has a gazillion textures! So much character. Great find!
@doom....I usually don't care about the inside that much anyway. I like the setting.
Great loc name, it sure is a wonderful view, might be a bit windy now without the trees :(
this place has been empty for some time now when i was driving tow truck it was empty and that was around 4 years now. I thought that they were going to be developing down in that area but i guess the plans didnt go thru
Heh... 'vainglorious mcmansion'. Too bad about the close neighbours..could climb in thru the top windows. Nice location.
I didn't think we'd get in, but I didn't care as it's location was very enticing.

I'd have bought this house if I knew about it, even if it required a complete tear down and rebuild, but the location is deadly.
