A very sad and tiny cemetery, consisting of only one grave, that of a young James Williamson.

James was born in Scotland, in the year 1828, emigrated with his family to settle the land of Eldon Township. Imagine the hardship of leaving your native land, sailing the long ocean voyage in heavy seas, to come to the wilds of Canada and establish a farm out of the bush and heavy tree cover. Your family works tirelessly to clear the land to make a better life for you and the family, and while clearing the majestic forests, a large tree accidently falls on a young child, killing him instantly. The family and the community is devastated. He is given a decent burial and his grave is marked for those of coming generations of pay homage to the turmoils of the pioneer families. James was three years old at the time of his death.

Today the spot is marked by a roadside grave marker and by passers by leaving toys and stuffed animals, things James would have never had in his brief life.

saw the place you are talking about, had a quick scoot up the driveway, loads of tire tracks, was not convinced it was abandoned. I was running short of time but will check it out another time.
