Happened upon this lovely church simply by chance. I was heading east of Lorneville along a pleasant backroad, and there it was majestically standing tall at the side of the road.

I tried to search for info on this abandoned church and have come up empty handed. According to the Canadian Coutry Atlas, and the accompanying link, the church was not here in the 1880's, but another church and cemetery stood just a little west of this spot. That cemetery is still there, but the church long gone. Anyone having any info regarding this beautiful church is welcome to contribute.

A new name was given to the amalgamated churches ?Woodville Community Presbyterian Church?. Records show the church was sold sometime in the late 1990s and possibly again around 2002. The church is currently privately owned. The grounds are well cared for and there is a hydro meter. I hope the church is not demolished.

The name was later changed to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church when the United Presbyterian Church was created. The church celebrated its 150 anniversary in 1994. A year later at the end of 1995 the church closed its doors for the last time. On January 1, 1996 St. Andrews was amalgamated with Knox, Woodville Church.

St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church I was able to find some details on this little old church. The church was built in 1844 by the Church of Scotland and was the 2nd church in Lorneville Ontario. I?m not sure when the name was changed to St. Andrews but at one time the name was St. Andrews Methodist Church.
