Venus Flytrap, yes its a weird name, but look at the pics and you will see why.
Fairly modern home on the remains of a farm. The fields are still cultivated but this particular farm has seen better days. The barn has almost completely collapsed. There are numerous farm vehicles and equipment scattered around the property, mostly behind the old barn.
The house is in decent condition, leaving me to believe it has not been abandoned for too long. Found what was left of a mini-bike, either stripped for parts or just another old relic.
Easy to access, neighbours are within sight, but don't seem to care. Great place to view old tractors and farm equipment.
**Burned to the ground in a huge blaze, April 13, 2016.

Shame this burned to the ground, was particularly interested in checking out the cars and hovercraft but it seems like those are gone too.
Just to let people know there is lots of mold in the basement. And watch out for the floor in the back part of the garage. It is particle board and has gotten wet so it is rotting. I fell through it.
this place is being cleaned out all the tractors and car parts are being sorted i guesss for scrap so visit soon

I’m so happy I found these albums! This is the home I grew up in. My family rented it from 1996 to 2006. It was owned by the Harbaruk family who owned a few properties on that road. The son, Nick Harbaruk - who was a professional hockey player for the Pittsburg Penguins among other teams - was our landlord. The house was lovely but did have a mould problem, and the main reason it was abandoned is because the only water supply was a well which was located in the barn. All my best childhood memories were at this house. My dad built the deck and put in the sliding door, our Siberian Husky lived in the red shed. I did visit it before it was burnt down, and when I went back a few years ago to find it gone I was upset I didn’t have photos. But now I do. Thank you so much! I also have plenty of photos of the house when it was lived in and loved. I’d be happy to share if anyone’s interested - or if anyone would like to know more about the area.
