The history of CFB Rockliffe (aka: CFB Ottawa - North) is well documented. Anyone who grew up in Ottawa in the (a)70s knows about all the buildings that used to be there (and the ski hill). The base was slowly dismantled until the PMQs (Married Quarters) were the only structures left. Although the homes were abandoned, DND kept them heated through the winters, so they were actually in good shape when I visited. It(a)s been about a year since I was there, but, be aware that this is DND property (until it transfers to CLC) and Military Police make regular rounds (I had permission from DND and the keys to all of the houses). I(a)ll try to dig-up more interior pics.

This is now demolished. The only part of it still surviving is the runway which is being used by the local airport

I know that DND was trying to sell some of the small two-story PMQs on Rigel Pvt. (would make a good cottage). I don't know if they actually managed to sell any before clearing the site.
