Due it the plaza being situated on Yonge Street, it's obviously very busy, and being spotted is a high probablity if one isn't careful. The property is fenced off, and the abandoned house right beside the properties has a security camera that may or may not be active.
Seoul Plaza This plaza is almost a Frankenstein of buildings, all awkwardly and uncomfortably merged together into one big building- but the angles are uneven and it’s not the nicest to look at. However, the establishments themselves were very nice on the inside, and it’s sad to see all these places looking so vacant.
Looking back on older iterations of street view, Seoul Plaza has changed a lot over the last 15 years. Even going back to 2015, there are only a couple of the businesses that occupied the premises that stayed around until 2024, and going all the way back to 2007 it seems like the entire plaza had been replaced with the exception of one establishment, not including any potential rebrands. A variation of the Ship of Theseus, really.
Currently, the property is owned by the Tridel Group and Arkfield Development. The Tridel Group is a real estate and development group that focuses on homes, condos, and rentals in the GTA. Currently they own 20 condos in the GTA, and with the purchase of the Seoul Plaza it seems like they’re shooting for 21. Arkfield Development is a real estate investment group that purchases and manages development projects. This is going to be the fate for the Seoul Plaza. A 14-storey and 247 unit building has been proposed for the site, and seems to be the inevitable future of this land.
