Hazards of Raley Grain Elevator

I suspect that the elevator is owned by the nearby hutterite colony, but no one will stop you from going close-by for a glance.

History of Raley Grain Elevator

Raley Grain Elevator was built in 1905, meaning it is now 118 years old.

There is more to the grain elevator than meets the eye. For example, it is one of the few remaining Alberta Pacific Grain Elevators, due to the company being sold to Federal Grain.

At the site where this elevator stands, there used to be a railway junction as well. In the early 70s the elevator was closed. Nowadays it is used as fertilizer storage by the nearby.

You’ll notice that I listed this as a ghost town as well, and it is one. It was likely barely even at village status, and no buildings remain. (I don’t think so anyway)

I went on May 14th of 2023. Another cool thing to check out nearby is the Remington Carriage Museum in Cardston.
