Hazards of Erb street walk-up

Scrappers have got to the building so there is lots garbage strewn about in their quest for metal

This was an active apartment building a short time ago. There used to be several other apartments and houses on this block, but a developer with plans to repurpose it into a bunch of apartment towers has been slowly tearing down all the buildings. This is the last one left, and it is still fairly intact, and fortunately easy to access. There are neighbours, but there are access points and approach angles that all but eliminate being spotted. Scrappers have gone through and ripped out most of the electrical. 8 units in total, 2 per floor, all are very similar in appearance and layout. Despite its age, it looks like it was a well-maintained building, I wouldn’t have minded living there myself.

I just went past today and noticed. That was fast.

This place is gone now, sadly.

There is security fencing around this place now with a porta potty and a skyjack. It may be about to come down, but the skjack is making me think it may be turned into a sales office, as skyjacks usually aren't used for demolition. Although it has a flat roof, they may use it to go up and shovel off the stones first before knocking it down.

DEECENT find. Waterloo is a hotspot almost all the year round.
