History of McBride House

This house was built in the early 1900's around 1908, I was told. The house originally belonged to the Mcbride family who rented the house out for many years. In 2017 following the passing of Mr. Ross Mcbride. The house was put on the market for $399,999, it sat for months with no one taking any interest. Several months passed and the house was dropped down to $180,000 and sold instantly. Despite looking in relatively good condition the new owner found the house to be structurally unsafe for any renovations/upgrades. The new owner decided to demolish it and it is to be replaced with a duplex. It sat vacant since January when the last tenants were evicted. Owner was very friendly and allowed me to take as many photos as I wanted. House was demolished in September of 2021.

Surprisingly this house had quite a bit of character to it. Hardwood floors in nearly every room on the main floor, pressed tin ceilings in the second floor bedrooms and an old stone sink in the basement. I also found a photo of the house from the early 1990’s that I have included.
