Hazards of Fired In December

ACTIVE! PEOPLE NOW LIVE HERE. DON'T GO.

NOW “RESTORED”. ACTIVE! NOT A PROSPECT TO EXPLORE ANYMORE

\n December 14th. Stoopid early in the AM, I too get woken up. Ive got a picture from the top floor of a building in downtown Galt, looking out at a emergency scene as Cambridge Fire is trying to put out a fire. They succeeded

\n Fastforward 2 weeks and I swing by to take a peek and it appeared as tho residents were moving possessions out \n THEN, I drag this friend for a walk and we just walk around and talk about how shitty life is and made a quick stop at some things im watching, things Ive hit and things I missed. The front door was posted with too many notices. It was open

\n The very next day I went. And it was decent. Apartments werent too hard to access. The house is HUUUUUGE but bastardized as apartments/units tend to do. The fire, from my untrained eye, seemed to have started at the Boiler for the Radiators (all disconnected and bypassed). On the upper apartment on the far side, there were a few Radiators that had some bright orange paint on them. They blew out. So water all over. No water to heat, POOF. Boiler catches. I have NO DAMN CLUE WHY IN GODS NAME THE BOILER WAS AT THE VERY TOP OF THE HOUSE. It defies what I thought I knew

\n There is basic power. Some panels on the floor with heaters inside the residence that read "NOT FOR RESIDENTIAL" pretty well. Mint. I dont think it has a designation, but the article in the news stated 500,000 - 1,000,000 dollars worth of damage. It seems like it could be a resto OR demolition depending what insurance says

\n LEAD, ASBESTOS AND OTHER BAD STUFF. P100 RESPIRATOR A MUST! \n Reviewing photos, I noticed a camera (VERY new lookin) plastered above the door I went thru. NICE. Real nice.Huge album as per the norm

\n JUNE 2021 - Walked past with a buddy and was talking about this and they took the roof off, removed the first few layers of brick and put cinderblocks in. They are saving this and taking the half story on the top that burned and making it a full story as an addition. This surprised me TBH as by all means, this should have been a outright demolition. Information gained from the neighbor, who even detailed the extent of the damage, and I said “WOOOOOOW” like it was the first I had heard it. But really, it was aimed at the fact that his assessment thru the words of his neighbors when it had happened, was SPOT ON.

Active. Lived in and finished (mostly if not all). Nothing here to check out, but there wasnt too much anyhow. Other apartments were where it was at.
