Toronto Classic

This home is located in a historic neighbourhood. It's been sitting vacant for some time now with some windows and doors missing, letting the weather in. RiddimRyder Photography first spotted this one last year some time, but didn't get the balls to try it until more recently because it's in a very tight neighbourhood. The first thing we noticed about this house was the demo-fence. Next, the grass coming up through the driveway bricks and the weird fake grass on the front lawn. The front door and windows had been removed with big gaps around the boards for animals to easily get in. Another door was left wide open. As we began exploring this home we were amazed by all the gorgeous wood details inside. This home was also much larger than it appeared with a finished basement and a gorgeous centralized wood staircase that stretched up through 3 stories above it. I absolutely fell in love with this kitchen! It looks as though it may have had some recent upgrades, but it still had that rustic, classic charm that went along nicely with the entire home. It seems as though a salvage team has been working away and removing items that can be saved... I hope they save all that wood! I'm not sure what the future holds for this home, but it seems as though someone is planning to demolish it. Given the neighbourhood it is in, I imagine some heritage-lover is putting a stop to that and so the construction has been halted and they may need to adapt their plans to meet the criteria of the culture of the neighbourhood. For now, she's just sitting here waiting for some love....
