As the weather gets colder, it beciomes a but moar of a struggle to keep warm with a pedal bike. So i had enough layers on that even with the steady spitting, I did not get wet. My hands were cold however. Talking with members and networking makes you look at things a second, or third time, sometimes even a first. DAExplores (PrincessNinja) scouted a place in this area and I went to have a look and well, I simply walked the wrong way. Its not often I go the wrong way and it works out for me. So this is a nice area of Cambridge (YES, THOSE DO EXIST) and I locked my bike at the end of a dead end road and walked. I say walked but TREKKED is more accurate. The construction site was WORSE than a cornfield that was just harvested after 4 days of straight rain. Im impressed that I wasnt swallowed by A) the stream/creek i had to cross to get to the other side of this site and B) the muck that was compacting in layers, on top of the layers of compacted muck. Heavy. So I trek and get to the pile behind where the outbuildig is and BOOM construction workers in the high visibility walking around. I quickly ducked and hid. A few mins later and they had moved to the front of the site close to Dundas St S and continued to work the land. I was aware of workers on the site when I started to work my way there. 2 houses, one falling apart and the second floor collapsing, and the other is fairly good. Peeling paint but not bad air. Moisture got to it a bit. And after running thru the second, the piece of equipment that was bombing around had been parked at the front, blocking access by vehicle to the site. Pedestals. These places will inevitably be demolished but there is a stone house (NOT REALLY PICTURED) that has power and all the widows, lights on inside even once the work day was done and I want to have a look at it and maybe see if its accessible. I wouldnt be surprised if that house is designated as its fenced off and still has a yard, and the foundation isnt dug out, its NOT sitting on a pedestal like the other 2 places. Air quality, Insects, Possible animals, Sharp objects, the usual hazards. No cameras and alarms to my knowledge, and the houses were (hike aside) very easily accessible. Also there is one outbuilding. Its really storage. MASS AMOUNTS of gear oil for the equipment on site. Barrels like Donkey Kong.

ADD ON: Upon checking it out with DAExplores, there appeared to be a white pickup truck that stayed behind after all the workers were gone. This could be a security guard. We had a close call as we skirted around a building to avoid this truck as it drove around and ended up retreating, using the large equipment for cover. BE ON THE LOOKOUT ALWAYS AWARE. I got a few shots of the stone house. Its got a realtor lockbox on one of the doors and was locked from all I saw. It had an alarm warning on a few places but I didnt notice sensors on the walls or corners of the rooms (but I wasn't looking too hard, as the closer I got to the front, the closer I got to the truck.).

EDIT:12/3/2020: Changed the status to "Being Demolished" as I can only imagine the 2 places I ran thru are going BUT that oh so elusive stone house, is designated. And its not going. I could be wrong however. Like it always goes, only time will tell.

12/20/2020 - Theeasykaybreezy and I drove past at night, and all I could see was the stone house and no other silhouettes, so Im updating this to "Demolished" for all intensive purposes. If the stone place gets infiltrated, it would be location worthy in itself. But alas, it seems unlikley.

MAR 2021 - Scrolling thru the news, PDF files and the City and Region websites, I found a Instagram post about how this land (far before I cam across it) will be the future home for the Cambridge Multi-plex. A large Rec center. (Picture of plan in gallery, proper credits on the tag). That stone place still exists.
