Rainham Centre is one of the historic townships in Haldimand County. It was formed in 1783 from part of the land grant to the Six Nations. The county was purchased by treaty and settlement began in 1832. The first settlers were white veterans of Butler's Rangers established there by Joseph Brant. A large numbers of German settlers were also among these people. "The icy hand of death" was on a headstone of a child sharing the bitterness they felt. ........"Who departed this life' I have never seen before, on a headstone, instead of "Who Died" or just "Died". Wind Turbines loom nearby.

I like the clarity of the inscriptions. I still haven't figured out how to do that this well. Nicely done.
