This little hole-in-the-wall restaurant has been a Niagara Falls secret for decades. With only six tables and a position in a rather shady part of town, Sui Sun never enjoyed prosperous. And the owner likely never wanted it. In his 70s, he was hard working enough to ride the bus in from Hamilton every single day and take pride in preparing what was known as the best noodle soup and dim sum in the entire peninsula.

On the morning of May 10, 2014, the Niagara Falls Fire Department received a 911 call informing them that the back of a three-story building on Erie Avenue had collapsed (see OAP Location #10241 for further details). Unbelievably, months later, the small restaurant next door is still standing.

The Niagara Falls Fire Chief recently explained: "Once an unsafe building notice is issued, there is usually a deadline when certain things need to be completed. Sometimes extensions are given so that work can be finished. Other times matters can sometimes get delayed because there might be legal issues that need to be resolved between the owners of a property and their insurance company, as they determine whether or not they are going to pay out their claim and how they are going to do it."

In the meantime, Sui Sun sits in stasis, and with the right poking around, a suitable POE can be found.

I'm glad I never had the pleasure of dining here...that kitchen is disgusting!
