Quite possibly southern Ontario's definitive insect house. There is a bee hive occupying an exterior wall, where they are getting into the house through a rotted second-floor window-sill. However, that's nothing compared to the security system the home-owner has placed in the front living room to thwart unsuspecting intruders: a very active bee box. Unlike the outdoor versions kept docile with bee hive smokers, this one is filled with very aggressive defenders. They were dive bombing us in the kitchen doorway trying to get photos from only twenty feet away.

House is newly abandoned with decay just beginning. Ignore signs on the driveway warning of video and audio (yes, that's a new one) surveillance. The barn has been recently cleaned and satellite shows a narrow field along the shore of the river to the south. Therefore, the property is probably still in use.

The car was probably someone walking a dog [or a small donkey ? :) ]. Just Odd, thanks for sharing. Sounds like you had to BEE careful here.

We thought Veedub226 was hiding in an upstairs closet thinking that we were angry property owners. Despite calling repeatedly and searching every area of the location, we could not locate the car owner. The person literally must have arrived 5-10 minutes before us, and there really is nowhere else to go on this country lane but the barn or the house.

As a side note, FOS and I encountered a unique mystery here. We pulled onto the property and found a vehicle parked off to the side, engine grill still warm, a woman's purse and flowery sunglasses on the seat. We walked the property calling out 'hellos' to no avail. Veedub226, we were actually worried that we had coincidentally encountered you at a location (sort of in your area, after all).
