Daigle House is estimated to have been built during the 1870's.
The land on which the house was situated was owned at one time by Mabel and Dennis Harvey. The Harvey's purchased several properties during the 1950's. Mr. Harvey also built a motel off of Highway 17. When Mr. Harvey began to have heart issues in the 1960's the family moved back to Toronto.
The house is in very bad shape, especially on the upper floor. Some pieces of stairs are missing and require caution if making your way upstairs.
DIRECTIONS: The house is on Highway 17 north of Dean Lake, east of Iron Bridge,Ont.
Update: On or around February 2, 2014 two men were spotted conducting a controlled burn on the property. The result of which is the house is no longer standing.

I live not far from the Daigle house. I was so disappointed when I saw in the local news that it had burned to the ground. My last gallery of Daigle was taken with my iphone as thats all I had on hand. I had gotten a professional camera for my birthday this winter and was planning to go back in the spring and photograph it the way it deserved to be photographed :( I'll never get to do that now.
