Went here today (whatever the date on this is). I gotta admit, it was really interesting, but it was really underwhelming. All that remains of whatever structure was here is some scorched debris and a severely overgrown foundation and driveway. It was hard to look at the place for longer than 10 minutes as I was being swarmed by hundreds of mosquitos, the most I've ever seen (no exaggeration).
That being said, it's still a cool place, and I'm glad I got to check it out. And I guess there is something really fascinating about the remains of this house in the woods. Looking back at the main page for this, I find 2Crwn's theory on the origin of the building to be especially fascinating. It really doesn't seem like people did live here. Old photos of the building have it appearing very rickity and shed-like, even from the start, and yeah there's no furniture or human posessions at all. I saw a construction sign behind the house, but I didn't end up finding that separate shed.
It's interesting that the driveway was repaired to connect to the subdivision, and it's hard to imagine anyone ever getting vehicles down it, but it really was akin to an actual road in the past with other buildings nearby that are now gone. I looked at historical satellite imagery, and it looks like this building was constructed sometime during the 1980s, was abandoned sometime in the late 2000s or early 2010s, and burned down sometime between 2009 and 2011. What's weird is that from 2007 to 2009, an addition was made giving it an additional third in size, and this was only shortly before it burned down. Really odd story overall. Its driveway also directly connected to that of a farm, so maybe both were owned by the same people, with them inhabiting a farm building?? An alternative theory would be, if people did live here, when they moved out they just brought basically everything inside with them.
