The southern section was easy to build. Just north of here it turns into the Canadian Shield with tonnes of swamp. what a place to build a road.

The road ends just north of Uphill but went straight through in the 1880s into the worst possible terrain for a road. No wonder it fell into disuse. This is the old school on the Vic Rd in Uphill.

This is the northern extent of the southern section of the road. From here northward it is nothing but swamp and granite. No one was crazy enough to try to live up in this section as the road was impossible. The rd. went in a straight line along the Dalton/Digby Township line
