Nice..looks like part of if was a converted church. Not sure where you see Simeon Sewell listed on the 1878 map, but this is clearly on the Simeon Reesor property. I made the change..

Visited this cemetery on Thanksgiving, while out geocaching on my way to family dinner. I thought it odd that all the stones are around the perimiter of the graveyard, no markers in the centre.

Thanks! Yeah it's in pretty good shape eh. Would be nice to know who actually lived here and who built it.

Wow this place looks amazing! Great find!
I will be going on a second trip to this location in the near future.
I was in there hiking around 15 years ago, and remember seeing the old buildings, the water tower and the roadways. It was definately run by the MNR, they did forestry research, also dealt with rabies quarantined animals, childrens programs and hunting tests. It appears that the new development may have taken over most of the site, but I bet we can still find evidence of the previous structures.
LoL! nice pics captamerica. "spydrgyrl" you said you got a farmers newpaper from here? It wouldn't happen to be the "Family Herald and Weekly Star"{Canada's National Farm Magazine} would it?
Location shown on the map is incorrect, should be about 5km south, on Cooper's Falls Road.
I pass this place four times a week on my way to work. The spookiest time was with eight vultures all perched on the roof, like they were waiting for something, or someone.
Nice site! Thanks for sharing! :)

Back in the 70's I spent a week there one day (yeah, it was that slow). There used to be an old building that housed one of the only two restaurants in town, and from the outside you could see that the roof was bowed but with a distinct point in the middle, imagine a very flattened 'W'. You found out why when you entered. The roof was sagging, and in the centre of the floor was a hydraulic j
It is a long quote from the New Testament about being saved..These folks were "over the top" religious.
I did check sideline 28 as well and found the White farmstead. Hey Robert..I lived on Roseway near Church and Wooten Way..Great place to grow up= back then EVERYONE played hockey in our neighbourhood.
we gotta save the brothels..A part of our pioneer heritage..every major town had one.
