This place is a shame. Perhaps if it's upper floor was a little better designed with higher ceiling it may have stood a chance but I fear the sun will set one last time on this house soon. I am not sure when it was built but my father grew up around the corner and still remembers as a kid him and all his friends would call this house the mansion. It was built by a single lady who name my father couldn't remember, but he said that she had built another house in Welland in the same style but different layout before this one which over the years has become a youth home. When I was in high school I remember a girl named Elizabeth Pokol who lived here and from some old mail I found they may have been one of the last ones to live here. The house had a beautiful lot with a small forest in the backyard but the forest is now a mud pit with a few property stakes and large forsale sign saying development property 10 building lots. Several of these are around the house and with all the rest of the equipment that showed up the next day I don't think this house fits in with there development plans.
Sorry for the flash photography gallery when I drove by and saw the huge excavator even though it was getting dark I didn't want to come back a day or two later and find a pile of rubble and kick myself for it.

Very nice dm420, this is the kind of place I would have wanted to hang out at when I was a kid, strange as that sounds now. Small things impress kids. The details in this place really make it!
Epic house!.. and great eye noticing an abandonment of this magnitude in this area of Welland.

This was an awesome home at one point! I would have loved the chance to take it!
