A really nice example of a fairly modernized farm for 100 years ago.

A huge barn with unique shaped lighting balls and a wind turbine generator for power this would have been the place to be, all the modern amenities of being in town on the farm. We take a lot of our achievements as a society for granted and living on a farm with hydro and running water 50 years ago was quite the feet. All the buildings are open and full of goodies, it was getting late and I do not enjoy exploring after dark, so, I had to leave a little premature but I am sure there is more excellent photo shooting opportunity's. There is a neighbor across the road but the entire front of the house is blocked by trees and the driveway is open with no "No Trespassing" signs.

There is a lot of mess but very little vandal damage that I had noticed, definitely somewhere I would like to go back to with more light and time; I think there may be some history buried in that stuff.

Be Very Careful around the Windmill tower there appeared to be a large concrete hole underneath it, cover by a very thine piece of plywood like quarter inch it wont hold your weight. The hole probably housed or houses the water pump; I did not look... Yet.

Thank You Clay and Rob for the clarification, it makes more sense now.

I m not trying to start a fight :P There were both but it would have the generator on top behind the blades and seeing as how I mentioned a pit below I would say your both right on it being a pumping windmill but wind turbines were invented in 1887 and they were used on farms throughout the 20th century.

The wind mill is for pumping water out of the ground not for electricity.
