This is one of our favourite locations. The Forks of the Credit. The whole area is just beautiful. One of the nicest and toughest trails that i know of, a great leg and core workout. A portion of The Devils Pulpit, the same trail a few kms south of Cataract (Church's) Falls. There are so many nice trails in this area. The ruins are located halfway down the escarpment on a sidetrail. You can also access it from Forks of the Credit rd. near the famous hairpin turn and huge train trestle near Dominion st. at the back end of Chisholm st. I'll let the placard photos brief you on its history. Very cool place.
Map co-ords are approximate. The best place to park is at the end of Caledon Mountain Dr. where the red vehicle is on the satellite image.

the view of the mountains behind the Kiln ruins in the B and W photos is the Devil's Pulpit (the most beautiful locale along the Niagara Escarpment). If you watch the end of "Fish Hawk", starring Will Sampson, on youtube, you will see more how it looks today...I never knew this kiln existed right there..
One of the the most heartwrenching films I have ever seen--starring Will Sampson--was filmed here at the Devil's Pulpit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gr00bzjO3c
Great location. I remember exploring here as a young Boy Scout, many many years ago, and could never find this place again. Thanks for bringing it all back.

I didn't know about that film and yes i watched most of it thru your link and saw the closing scene where he walks down the tracks towards the ruins. Pretty neat, thanks clay :-)
