I see this house everytime I drive to downtown Midland. The lot is for sale, nearly 100 acres but this house has sat on the property vacant and boarded up for as long as I can remember. I've always thought that it had great potential with a little tender, love and care...or a lot, as I pulled over today to take a look, seems like over the years it has acquired some damage. Despite that, I still label this place my dream home. Because it is all boarded up in the way it is, Im fairly certain there is no intent to sell the house, as you can't get inside. It appears it is the lot and it's size that they are marketing as a gem - I dont agree with that as the house is what I deem as the gem.

The architecture and blue exterior makes it distinct among all the greenery.

The flooring is fairly stable, no glass and not too much visible mould. It looks like the owners were trying to renovate, but left before doing so. There are artifacts scattered across the yard, with very little within the building itself. There are two floors and a basement, divided into two separate apartments, with their own bathrooms, living rooms, bedrooms and kitchens.

Unfortunately, one of the neighbours came by to check on the property. He divulged that the building had been vacated by the owners nearly a decade ago. He also mentioned that a few squatters had taken up residence 5 years prior, but had since left.

I just drove past here today, and this house has been demolished. Nothing left but a fresh patch of earth.

I just posted five new photos from this afternoon. The back kitchen area has collapsed, and the front porch is collapsing too. I don't even think it's possible, and it is certainly not safe to enter. I just shot a couple of pictures through the window and called it done.

It also appears to be open now. Was boarded up for a while.

I drove past this one today, and it seems like the house has collapsed in two places. I will stop by tomorrow after work and get some pictures.

If anyone finds out the history of this gem, let me know. I'm a huge history buff.

I stopped here today after work. It looks like the house has really degraded since the last set of pictures. There are multiple holes in the roof and the floor squishes when you step. I went in as far as I dared, but I really don't trust the floor. I didn't want to pay a surprise visit to the basement.

We drove by the house today, and there's a sagging piece of wood on a door or window on the North side. Glad to hear to know this beautiful house wasn't the site. Someone please pm me if they plan on going to check it out. I've been dying to check it out for years.

The house of horror was 8960, two lots over from the fruit market.

I know the story you are talking about, however, that is not the house. The house where that happened was burned down and the remains of the structure can be found a few houses down. I originally thought this was the house, too, but I was told otherwise by people in the area and looked into it and they were right.

I'm pretty sure this house is being sold just as land, because of the horrific story behind it: The house was lived in by an exceptionally challenged woman, her friend, and three others, including the friend's boyfriend, whom was charged with the murder of the challenged woman. The details are horrendous, thus no one would want to be associated with the house.

I've thought about contacting the real estate agent just to see what the possibilities of getting on the inside are. Would be neat to see this insides.

It's an amazing looking house with no POE. I have been meaning to stop for two years, but the neighbouring property is close and maintains the lawn.
