This school S.S. #3 Maple Lodge is one of the last buildings of the old town of Maple Lodge, which now is mostly farmland. A post Office was located just north on Niel Rd. but I haven't nailed down which building it is now...yet. This school was built in 1900 and closed in 1956. It was also a woodworking shop for a while, just recently, but repeated break-ins in this remote spot, stealing thousands of dollars worth of equipment, sealed it's fate as well. The first school [wooden ] was built just ahead of the one you see now. There was also a church diagonally across in the now cornfield. That church was moved there from further south in the 1800's. The outline of the old Grand Trunk Rail Line can be seen[satellite] just north at a northeast angle from the town of Ailsa Craig.

Oh, so you DIDN'T listen to him! lol ..I thought maybe you were stretch armstrong too :)
This should be fm. During our visit we met the owner who is the next farm over and he was very nice, but asked us not to go inside due to the sketchy floors. I of course listened to him.
@ground state , I know it was great fluke find, and I didn't need a weed wacker or machete, bonus. that HECLA #23 furnace is a beast.
Wow, now that is a real abandonment gem! So haunting standing all alone like that.
