Mystery Hatch

Demolished Drain in London, Ontario, Canada

In between Mournington Avenue and Highbury Avenue there lays a mound with overgrowth and trails that people who live in the nearby apartment buildings use.

The hatch may be sealed back up at this point. My adventures took me there in April of 2010. Unsure what the purpose of it is. We asumed it was a secret underground military bunker housing a growing army of zombies, however there was minimal zombies within and no evidence of military involvement.

Air quality is likely a concern, the inside is muddy and there is some shallow water inside. It is a large structure with walkways located along the perimiter of the complex. Felt like an underground parking garage but without an entrance other than the hatch.

Looks like it is/was a water reservoir. I couldn't get any of the hatches to open. There are about 10 of them in total.

My guess is this was an old bomb shelter from the 1940-50's.
