On the north side of Elgin Mills Road East, just east of Kennedy road, you will come across this unique looking farmstead, sitting in plain view, down a long treed laneway.
Concession 6, lot 26, was settled by Frederick Quantz. Fred had married Margaret Puterbough and the couple had ten children. Margaret died in 1854, and Fred wed a Mrs Mary Lundy, with which he had another two children. This would certainly explain the need for such a large house. ;)

This barn has been fenced off for awhile now, and this past weekend the gate was open so I ventured in. This can be found on Elgin Mills, between McCowan and Kennedy on the north side. - Brooklin Guy.
