Town and Country Racquetball

This is a Racquetball and Fitness Club that was operational in the west end of London for years. I know of the family that ran it and my best guess would be that it was built and opened in the early 1980(a)s.

At first glance, you(a)d think that the banks took possession of the club as it(a)s locked up tight and much the equipment, files, a pool table. plants and even updates on the lobby message board are clearly visible. It looks like the building was vacated in haste but according to my sources the original owner/operator still owns the property, the problem being he(a)s asking for an exuberant price for the land and buildings which include a vacant house at the front (pictures and details to follow) and an abandoned mini-putt Center across the parking lot. In total, it(a)s about 11 acres of land.

Why hundred(a)s of thousands in fitness and other equipment was left unguarded inside is anyone(a)s best guess and because the building has had huge leakage issues apparently it(a)s all completely ruined and without any value now. The final note written on the lobby message board was from January 2007 so one would presume that this was the last time the club was open to it(a)s members.

Added by DanikaGeorgyna, November 2015: [color=white][color=white][color=black]This abandoned fitness and racquet club has been sitting on 11.05 acres of land surrounded by other abandonments and a lot of new developments. It has been sitting abandoned since March of 2007 as they moved to a newer location with a different name, The Athletic Club. I was surprised to see that they had left everything behind including all of the exercise equipment. I thought they would at least auction that off as its worth a lot of money. Im surprised a developer hasnt snatched up the property yet as there is a lot of development in the area. You can see that nobody has been around to maintain it. There is so much damage from a bad leaky roof including mold and decay and the squash court glass has been smashed. The place is rather large at 15,000 sqft with nine squash courts, a lounge and a restaurant. As far as the age of the building or when it was built, the ad says, "OLD". So I was unable to find out when it was built other than a long time ago.
