Hazards of Harker Mine

The site can be driven to on unmaintained roads, and there is the risk of animal encounters.

History of Harker Mine

The mine was initially established in the 20s when the first shafts were sunk, with subsequent exploration through to the 00s, however the last underground work appears to have been done in the 80s, suggesting the site itself has been largely abandoned since.

The Harker mine is located to the east of the 672 highway.

The site is mostly comprised of a tower at the top of a rock outcrop, a flooded portal to the underground workings, and various debris and a concrete pad.
