Not much, you could probably fall into some of the ruined foundation, or fall into the river. The remaining buildings look solid
Nova Scotia Wood Pulp and Paper Company Mill, built pre 1903 then burned, rebuilt in 1916 and moved closer to the river. A rock dam and powerhouse were added in 1916 powering a 1,600 horsepower generator. Burned again in 1947 for the last time. At the mill's height it employed 50 locals, also there was controversy on the negative effect the mill was having on river fish stock.
I had wanted to get to this site since December 2023, but because of snow and work I have just now made it. You could probably drive to the ruins, but it gets really muddy, so I parked at the end of a short road, not sure if this part is someone's backyard but it was Sunday afternoon and nobody said anything. You can almost see the power house from the parking spot and if not it's a two minute walk in, it's on the right but you can’t miss it. Spend most of my time inside getting shots and staying dry, there is nothing inside but some garbage. The mill ruins are on two sides heading into the river, the second structure of note is part of the river but looks very interesting. I might plan to go back in the fall when the water level is down. Explored up the river to the spellway but not to the dam, maybe next time.
