In January of 1946, a man known as Sir Arthur Carty bought the plot of land that would be known as Holy Cross. He bought it for $1, and then sold it again to the roman catholic school board for another $1. Thus, in 1947 construction started on Holy Cross.
Completed in 1949, the school was quickly added on again by 1955. A church was also built beside the school in 1953. Before, church mass was done in the school, and before that, the priest was having mass at their house. By 1967 yet another addition was added on, this time with a gymnasium and kitchen. Part of this due to the mass amount of catholic european immigrants coming to Canada after WWII.
The school operated until 2017, when it was deemed low enrollment and closed down. Holy Cross has 2 sister schools, Holy Rosary, and Blessed Sacrament, both located in London. Demolition began in 2020, and today the school is now a hole in the ground.
