Old Moore Ruins

Roadside ruins associated with the Moore family, who were early settlers to this area of Effingham and currently have an alpaca farm nearby. The ruins do not get overgrown in the summer but cannot be seen from the road because of thick foliage on the shoulder. But coords are dead on if you go searching. The neighbour directly across the street from these ruins usually has a fruit stand in front of their house. If you stop for goods, you can likely engage them in an appreciative conversation and learn the history of the ruins. Unfortunately, when I shot the initial discovery gallery for this location, it was a cold April day: there was nobody outside to talk to. Lots of spring wildlife on the move though, which I couldn’t help including in the gallery.
