This railway bridge was abandoned in the 1990's. It was part of the Dominion Atlantic Railways system that merged two smaller systems in Nova Scotia and was established in the 1890's. In 1912, the Canadian Pacific Railway leased the system for 999 years but as with most of the bridges used in this railway system, the maintenance lifespan was expiring after a century of passenger service, and with dwindling passengers and the costs of upkeep, the whole system was abandoned along with this bridge.

The bridge is approximately 600 ft long, while the truss in the middle is about 175 ft in length. It runs over a river that leads out to the Bay of Fundy.

This was one of our random stops on our Honeymoon Road Trip in 2021.
