This mill was built in 1856 by Thomas Bearman. Closed as a mill, partially collapsed and now repurposed by artists. It also has historical value but not to our government, at this time, as they did not help the then Bike shop financially to repair it.Most of the mill had to be torn down in 2013 after flooding in August of 2010. It is too bad they could not dump the excess water as maybe they could have if it was all in working condition. It was one of the first water powered mills in Ontario. It still can be seen in it's entirety on Google Earth Street view and the>>> link <<< shows the part that had to be removed. It was used as a sawmill by Tom but modified it to include a grist mill. A dynamo[electric generator] was installed in 1894. Apparently power is still produced here or at least as of 2013 during this article. The small brick building[it looked like particle board at first] and rotting wood parts still in place, is all that remains. The waterfalls here is what I was initially interested in and is worth a photographic stop, really, in any season.
