Snell's Wesleyan Methodist [Pioneer] Cemetery is very old, but it is more than that by a different name. Upper Canada Preserved, thanks to veterans. A war veteran, Sergeant Jacob Rawn 1767-1835, First Regiment York Militia , from the war of 1812 is buried here and a great tribute headstone for his services by a grateful country. He arrived in Canada in 1804 and was given land in this area for his services in the War Of 1812.

Ya I avoid T.O. when going north and try and take a different route each time. I couldn't believe Rawn's headstone when I saw it up here and then to find a CTV news link etc. after, bonus. Property for war service, good deal. Great link, thanks timo.

I pass here several times a year, never realized the significance of the folks buried here. Next I'll stop and pay my respects. Thanks for the history lesson.
