Maplegrove No. 5

Maplegrove No. 5 was once a small one room schoolhouse, serving the children from nearby farms. According to the the gable sign, it operated from 1897 until its closing in 1949.

Most recently it was used as a residence. The power is still on, for now, and the interior is locked up. An ominous letter from Ontario Hydro is shoved inside the front door, warning the occupants of the looming deletion of electricity. Many personal items can be seen inside, tempting one to almost will themselves a way inside the old school. Scattered around the small property are also several items of a personal nature. It appears as though the previous residents got out quickly. One can only speculate as to why they left in such haste.
