Paipoonge Pioneer Homestead

This is an abandoned homestead in Paipoonge Township near the hamlet of Harstone. The old pioneer house appeared to be the only building on the property. The fields have not been used this year, sat maps show that the fields were used in 2013. The house, however has probably been abandoned for decades. The roof is badly damaged. A metal roof was put on the house over an older shingled roof, and parts of it have blown away, allowing the roof beneath to rot and collapse. The walls of the house have been torn out. I did not feel that this house was safe to enter while exploring by myself. There was lots of evidence of bears around the property, in piles all around the house and fields. I had a creepy feeling while I was there, so I didn't stay too long. There weren't many personal possessions left behind. There is a fire number at the driveway and barbed wire fencing. There is no hydro to the property.
