Just down the road from the remains of the Telford Cemetery, can be found a much smaller yet still ancient burial ground. The Hilyer's Cemetery has also been lost in the annals of the internet, although it appears in the world wide web as simply being in existence, no real history can be found. Perhaps a search in an actual library would be more fruitful.
It appears that this was once a family plot, the Hilyers being a popular family name in these parts for several generations. There are only two grave markers that can be found. One is tiny and denotes no information whatsoever, the other although broken and weather-worn, at least gives the name and year of passing of the deceased, that being J.W. Howard in 1884. He was the son of Alfred and S. Hilyer.
It is not known how many other folks may be buried here, or if these are the only ones from a time when life was a struggle to simply survive, let alone thrive.
