I've seen this place before but didn't stop as i'm always on a mission. A recent doors open here caught my eye so i thought i would see what this was all about. Perfect timing allowed me private access to most of the property. On site is a Fire Hall, General Store, the original Mooretown Train Station, a CNR Caboose, the Basswood Block (which houses a carpentry shop, print shop and harness-making shop),Trinity Anglican Church, S.S. No. 13 Dawn Township, the Reilley Cottage, a Log Cabin, a Blacksmiths Shop, the Francis E. Shaw Exhibition Hall (which features store front exhibits, various vehicles and a Lionel Model Train Room)and the Main Museum Building. Of the 12 buildings, i peacefully strolled through 10 with no interuption. I got a few minutes inside the larger Francis E. Shaw Exhibition Hall but people started showing up so i promply exited. Overall from a historical, photographic, and exploration stand point, this place is great. So much more to see here, i didn't go inside the Main Museum Building at all nor did i get a chance to check out the Model Train Room. Definately worth the five dollar price of admission, check out their website link and hopefully everyone enjoys.
