Luther Marsh Farmhouse

Demolished House in Grand Valley, Ontario, Canada

Recent status Demolished
Location # 10029

White siding over red insulbrick farmhouse beside Luther Marsh Conservation Area. A half collapsed barn, old outbuilding, camper trailer and old car, and a newer large steel building. The land around the property is still farmed and their equipment is stored in the locked newer building. The barn and other large shed are unexplored.
Roof of the house has two large holes in it. Some black mold in spots and dryrot. This place will start looking better in a few years. Most recent date I saw was a 2004 phone book and 2005 day planner.
There is still power to the house, the small freezer was on.
I arrived here near dusk so it was a flash only explore.
There is a no trespassing sign but you can park at the conservation area parking lot and it's a 10 min walk to the house.

LOL, ya you're right trail guy , was in the area and was just going on memory, dam. " I'll Be Back"! The drive looked the same the house same side etc. ...The new house is not on SAT,as well, that's what really screwed me up, so I thought it was the first house . I thought holy crap that was fast. Weren't the bugs bad... at luther lake?

Mobile - We had a picnic at Luther Marsh this evening. This house is still there bud. You were looking at the new house next door. It's looking better too. Looks like the holes in the roof have spread. If you come back up for some mobile-style summer shots give me a ring and if I can I'll go with you.. :-)

Are you sure you had the right place MW cuz there is a brand new house beside it on the west side which sounds like the one your describing. Street view shows the same old house. The newer house next door isn't on satellite image. I'll do a recon to confirm..

Gone ...New house in place and new jeep and new gate, new furniture, nice deck and new, new way, yes . Good job in not passing this by and the original post should have stayed. Street view shows new house but went by today before I knew that :(

I hope the owner saves that stove before the ceiling falls in on it.

And since the real gem here is that stove, and posting links seem to leave them as working hyperlinks in location comments, here's some background on the manufacturer: http://www.biographi.ca/en/bio.php?id_nbr=7260

Awesome look inside TB. There's being all artsy-fartsy with the camera, and then there's just firing the flash and giving the whole, full-out tour. With the slow-down in new posts, a full tour was definitely needed.

Huh! I posted this place about a year ago and was told it did not make the cut, even though it had a hole in the roof then. A certain admin argued it was seasonal and deleted it on me without hesitation. Good on you for getting in Trail! That is something I did not have the pleasure of doing.
