Yes, there could very well be a new species living inside this old pig farm. With the bizarre concoction of chemical elements probably still hanging around in the stagnant air inside, conditions are perhaps just right.

Use this open door beside the mini-silo. Once inside, turn left and make another sharp left (map to follow two pics from now)...

You will be standing facing the pig pens, but turn and look in a large, open vent behind you.

We've seen the one of the left before, but the mass on the right is entirely new. Shiny grey spindles resembling steel wool extended upward in 10-15 cm spikes.

My first impression was that this was some sort of crystal growth. But touching the very end of one of the spindles, I pushed lightly and found that they are completely flexible. It didn't break or snap off.

Looks as though each spindle has a tiny little spore developing on the end, waiting to burst and slowly take over North America.
