It was owned by a Mennonite family before expropriation. I lived down the hill in the old Monkhouse farmhouse in the ‘70’s, which may be still standing according to google earth photos.

In the 1970’s, as a teenager, I lived in the old Monkhouse farmhouse at the bottom of this hill, and family friends lived in the wrap around porch house shown in the top of the photo.

This was owned and occupied by (family friends and neighbour), the Jaynes family until the expropriation for the proposed airport. The Reesors farm was on the next sideline, #28, not here. I lived at the end of the long lane way on the left which led to the waterfalls and old Monkhouse farmhouse about 1/4 mile down the lane.

These two photos are of the gatehouse which was halfway down the private road off sideline 30 to the Monkhouse estate. There was a small bride crossing over the creek to the Monkhouse farmhouse and barn near the waterfalls. Recent photos show the addition to the farmhouse torn down and a junkyard of old cars surrounding it. The bridge seems to be gone and access to the farmhouse is blocked by a long row of trees. I lived there in the 1960s when it was owned by MPP Thompson at which time it was in good condition, and the gatehouse was occupied. So sad to see it in this state.

This home was owned by the Jaynes family until it was expropriated. The interior had original hardwood walls and floors.

It was an elementary school not secondary. I lived across the road from it. Back In the day schools were identified by school sections with a number....ie SS#16...that’s probably it’s ID.
