Good stuff GS
I really like your then & now pictures RNRF.
Did you guys have some kind of jamboree there this weekend?
What an awesome house, the 3rd picture is what I picture as a "home".
I had gone back & I'm 99 % convinced that they are reflections of street lights. I have other pictures of the streetlights & they give off a similar light with the camera settings. The other 1 % is that it could be a ghost.
Yea it's probably just a weak battery in the smoke detector. You should go back real soon. Oh, and let us know when so we can be entertained.
I agree with that doom. I'd take the older home in a heart beat. Now, with the new 30 $3-6 mill. "townhouses", it just means more pretentious asses in Oakville.
You buy a property for $35,000,000, then you tear down a 20 year old 32000 square foot mansion. If that makes sense to condo developers, then they are thieves & are making way too much money.
Looks like they are in the process of demolishing the hospital. Any idea what will be built there next?
Osborn Cemetery, Eramosa Township, Wellington County.
Thanks f.o.s., I have no idea what she is holding in that picture. The picture is dated "1890", but doesn't say anything about what it was for.
I hadn't found any indication that the barn/shed was of historic value, but when I first saw it I thought it was something that was missed by Heritage Oakville. I'm glad that is being corrected. I think the developers have stalled a bit after everything being okay-ed, they haven't even opened their sales trailer.
It depends on the day of the week.
There were also a number of large storage bins, but they were all frozen solid. How they got so much water in them to become frozen & what was inside them remains a mystery to me. I'm hoping they weren't full of his art work.
Doh I was deleting as you were typing Hudson. :-) re: the tower, even before I started my ascent I was wondering what the demolition team may have done to it already. It has a little bend to it & then the creaks, groans & rusted steps made me decide to turn back.
