Wonderful ruins, thanks.
Where is this location? The map shows it being in Kazhikstan??? I would like to go check it out before its gone.
OK here goes. The Gulf Station was located in Oak Ridges, on the west side of Yonge Street, 100metres north of King Road. It is now gone and a shiny new Shoppers Drug Mart sits on the location. The phantom OPP station sits almost directly across the road, on the east side of Yonge Street. It remains in place and in its current usage as a pool and spa business. The building also housed a Harle
Drove past here today. Thanks for preserving this great farm in photos.
The Gulf Station is now gone, replaced with a shiny new Shoppers Drug Mart, but the OPP station building still exists, now as a business locaion. Pics to follow
The Gulf Station and the OPP Station are located in Oak Ridges, on Yonge Street slightly north of the King Road. Pics to follow in the next day or two.
Wonder how the outrageous price of fuel will affect the industry, last time it sparked the recession that we are still struggling through. Lets hope for the best this time. Nice pics!
Some great photos, awesome colours.
Terrific shots. I spotted this place last week and planned to return in the future. Thanks for filling in the history and the golf warning.
When you go in the front gates of the zoo, look to your left. The building that now houses a snack bar/washrooms was the original train station where you started your ride. The remains of the monorail can clearly be seen behind here and easily followed from there.
Well Done!! I rode the monorail a few times in the early '90s, it was the best way to see much of the zoo. Now its just a heck of a long walk. I believe the crash occurred at the bottom of the long hill in the North America domain.
I may be mistaken, but I can't find anywhere that this location has been previously posted. My apologies if it has, still a great place.
Had this one on my "to do" list. I have been past here quite a few times and always wanted to stop and look around.
I remember passing this once, but never got back with a camera. Thanks for posting this unique place.
Visited this great old church today and found someone had broken in the front door, and the rear door was wide open. Had a quick look inside and took some pics. The interior has not been vandalized and a thick layer of dust coats everything. There is nothing of value inside, but it is still worth a visit before it gets locked up or destroyed.
