I'm pretty sure it is still abandoned. Check the date on the street view, you might be looking at the original sign. The 2022 street view from the road shows the sign is still gone, and I drove by this place very recently and it was definitely still abandoned.
This school was constructed in 1955 making it one of the oldest schools in Vaughan, being built way before the surrounding houses were. There is lots of information about the school in this document regarding its demoltion: https://pub-vaughan.escribemeetings.com/filestream.ashx?DocumentId=87187 The school hasn't been used as a public school since 2001-2002, but was then used for programs for autistic children from 2002-2018. So it was only actually abandoned for around 4 years. What I find very surprising is that despite it being abandoned and with lots of people nearby, before it was demolished it hadn't really faced any vandalism or damage at all.
There were two buildings there actually. One more hidden by foliage.
Also, while looking on Google Street view dates, the new townhouses built directly beside this school reside on what was an abandoned building only a few years ago. The buiding was taken down around 2019-2020 which was a shame because it looked really cool.
For some reason there is still a tiny portion of wall still standing. About the size of a doorway. I'm not sure why it hasn't been taken down, perhaps it will become some sort of monument or something? I'm not sure.
The boarding must have been ripped off very recently. I was there a few weeks ago and it was still on. Looks like the property is for sale right now so if it gets sold it's eventually going to be developed on. I finally went inside too and the place is destroyed inside. I'll upload some more pictures.
I've been to that park countless times but I've never actully gone into the terminal. Has anyone seen the inside?
I feel like this location would be better suited to Level 2 than Level 1. Level 2 is described as "Well known locations, heavy vandalism, relatively low risk to visitors." which is a perfect description of this place right now.
Woah, I didn't know this location was already on here until my albums got moved here instead. I'm glad to hear my suspicion of a basement was true. It's a shame that the house burned down, as the second floor is completely gone now, and the fire department or a construction crew cleared most of the trees and vegetation surrounding the house. Luckily this place doesn't seem like it's going anywhere soon. The construction crew that appeared after the fire has not returned since, and the place is not even boarded up or anything. Well, it's weird that the boards got put back up on the garage, but not the house.
Looks like this place used to be abandoned but it definitely isn't anymore. It's been turned into a bakery which is very active.
