Im not exactly sure where this is. Been to the area, and google mapped it. :(
Would love to see more photos on this one!
If anyone finds out the history of this gem, let me know. I'm a huge history buff.
I drive by this one every day. I was never brave enough to go on the property, seeing as how close it is to other houses. I wonder what the history behind this one is, and why it is left sitting to rot, in the middle of town. :(
Wonderful location I have to say! I did a bike trip few years back from Midland, unfortunatly used Newton St as my cut off the trail to head home otherwise I would have came across these!!!
Thankfully we are from out of town, so we arrived WAY to early to board the train near by. Our anxious son was eager to board the train, so we took him for a walk down the trail to visit the abandoned train car. We all enjoyed the visit here. Was shocked to see it as a location on here, when I typed in New Tecumseth
Walked back in history, from the days I'd get mad at my parents and walk down this trail to this ghost town to calm down. Grass is so overgrown! I Walked the patted down trails, to the foundations I assumed were still there and I cannot see any!!! I will be back in the spring when it's been patted down from the snow and I can see better.
Being me, and seeing no markers for the trail, I assumed I could have been on someone's property line. I went to the house to ask. The older gentleman seemed kind of shocked a younger girl would be looking for this carwreck! Haha. But he kindly told me the way to go, and reminded me to watch for the hill! :) Was an amazing morning walk to the car, definitely had to of came from the top of the hil
Thank you so much! We go here often! It's such a peaceful spot to stop and think.
The houses were where staff lived while they served their purpose at Oakridge. I know personally someone who lived in one of the houses, was brought over in the 60's to doctor at Oakridge facility. I don't think they have been used since Oakridge was closed down. They are well boarded, and it should be a historical spot, for sure.
When taking photos of the "gate" of Oakridge (as the building has been demolished) I had a car pull up with a bunch of older gentlemen in it, one of them informed me we aren't allowed to take photos of the property. Well, in my defence I had a doctor from Oakridge in my vehicle at the time of visit & he was replaying his memories as I took my photos. Photos were taken before getting stopped.
Location has been locked up since the last visit from timo. Looks like everything is still in tact.
Very beautiful location. Im glad I got to adventure out to it today. Would love to go back again and take more photos!!

Would love to get in here, but with the fencing around it & the constant eyes that are on you, no thanks!
