There's a 100 foot long excavator at the back of the building - it's pretty cool. But if any of you are able to make it on - get to the top of the building and look out to the right side of the building. It's something out of a horror flick - the top three floors on the back side are all gone.
@phrenzee, I don't really care though - it's like a $65 fine if I get caught and they get annoyed. I spent about $65 in gas travelling there aha. I go at night to all these places (more creepy), and the only security I've encountered on premises is an abandoned hospital in London, but they didn't even care.
@maple, you can leave your car outside the main gates, there's a roundabout just off to the side
Security is pretty tight around the place. All known entrances are boarded up pretty secure. I'm sure someone will have it opened up shortly though. Hopefully get in one last time before it's re-purposed.
I'm sure it was nothing - just really creepy, especially considering the age of the building, and the style of the building. I love exploring old buildings for the thrill, but spending days at a time in one, especially over night, has a real creepy feel aha.
I'm not sure if anyone else has done this - I've sent it to a few friends way back in 09, but google maps has Alma on fire. They must have taken the pic pretty much as soon as it was on fire since the entire thing is still in flames. I've made a gallery showing the before and after on google maps.
Hey guys, just an update that the barn is gone. There's a CAT excavator out in front of it right now. I'm going to upload some pics from today's outing, but the house is almost demolished. I suspect in a week or so it'll be gone, so visit while you can.
Alma is the single reason why I'm leery about whether ghosts exist. I learned about this place two weeks before it was burnt down and spent everyday exploring it. Had the police called on us twice and received a trespassing fine on the 25th, same day I seen some really messed up stuff in there. Then on the 28th, we were the last people to touch the building, except for the arsonists.
I live about a block away from it, it was demolished in June 2013
Girlfriend at the time was the last resident of this house. There was a lot of really creep things going on in the place. She had a baby brother and the baby monitor would pick up what sounded like girls talking. I don't have a lot of information on the history of this place, just that the basement use to be extremely creep - exposed brick, old coal heating (before switching to propane).
