Just up the road from this is an abandoned gas station with abandon cars and car parts

Driven past it many times. Interesting to see its deterioration over the years.

Passed this location on the way back from a trip. Wasn't dressed to properly (considering i was in a dress & flip flops..not the best exploring gear) but i knew i had to stop to check it out anyways. this motel is badly deteriorating. Didn't want to risk going inside.

Stopped by here over the 2016 Labour Day weekend. The main building is completely covered in new-ish boards, but the rest of the property is littered with interesting junk. The payphone's still there, as are the cool old mechanical gas pumps. There's also a number of abandoned cars and other similar stuff, including an old Bug. Apparently the locals like to dump their junk there now...
I was here over the 2016 Labour Day weekend, and can confirm there's not much left. The second building has totally collapsed into the swamp (it's to the right of the garage), and the roof has completely caved in and blocked the front door. There's also no trace left, as far as I could tell from the outside, of what this place used to be called. A sad end...
Paid this place a visit over the Labour Day weekend - it's a fascinating explore, but watch the floors in the restaurant. A lot of them have caved in, and a good chunk of the rest are nearly there. Does anyone know why there's a random RV parked out front with a "for sale" sign? The satellite pictures of the area, while not great, clearly show that it's a recent addition.

Fascinating how much a place can deteriorate in less than 6 years.

I just got back from Rye this past June. The Detta house has been worked on and the owner is trying to make it a bed and breakfast. I talked to him for about 1hour while on my journey. I have a few pics to put up in the next few weeks. I am going back this Sept to take the rye road north of Jerusalem rd. the only way is with the ATV's The other hotel is almost completely covered in bush

Still standing but boarded up..it's actually right across from Location #2135, one of the GPS is incorrect
roof has totally collapsed, I think it's sinking into the swamp.

Lauder, Spears & Howland contracted with Schroeder Mills & Timber Co. to build and run the sawmill at Lost Channel. The mill was built by 1917 and Howland insisted building a railway to it.
Lauder, Spears and Howland began their partnership with a leased sawmill at Mowat. Lauder and Spears had operated a mill at Wilberforce from 1904. At the same place L.B. Howland was manager of IB&O railway.
